OK/Cancel Presents: UIE’s UI9August 10th, 2004 by Kevin Cheng :: see related comic |
We’ve prepared an extended comic strip for the User Interface 9 Conference run by Jared Spool’s User Interface Engineering. The comic is being released in four segments for your online consumption. In addition, it will be on the UI9 posters. This project was a lot of fun for both Tom and I. If your company has an idea for a similar project in the future, let us know. In the meantime, go check out the first instalment of LL Spool J and the Quest for UI9.
Regular Registration: $2,290
Good grief. I hope the comic artists get a piece of that ..
Yeah, I love how the developer says:
oh … that link shouldn’t work because we don’t connect our schema to the configurable store. Just keep going.
It’s a parody of course, yet it sounds so real.
Good grief. I hope the comic artists get a piece of that ..
Admittedly, that’s steep (though the early registration was less insane thought still costly at $1500 I think). I’m not paid to defend his pricing but on the other hand, if you look at the list of speakers, it is a collection of industry leaders in their respective subjects. I know I want to hear from most, if not all of the names there. I imagine a lot of it has to go towards the dozen or so guest speakers.
OK/Cancel is a comic strip collaboration co-written and co-illustrated by Kevin Cheng and Tom Chi. Our subject matter focuses on interfaces, good and bad and the people behind the industry of building interfaces - usability specialists, interaction designers, human-computer interaction (HCI) experts, industrial designers, etc. (Who Links Here) ?
